What can I say? These last few weeks surely have not lacked their fair share of drama, heartache, and surprise! April was definitely a month to remember as the RATTLER cruise took a much unexpected turn. For those that have been living under a rock for the past little while, check out the news threads:

May’s monthly meet is going to be a very important one and we here at SOMC are calling out to everyone in the club. The Monthly meet will be held on SUNDAY, May 30th starting at 6pm (regular time). We will be discussing some very important issues that are in need of attention. This will probably be the single most important monthly meet to date, so if you value this club at all, please try to make a point in showing up and making your voice heard. Meet info can be found here:

Carrying on with the rest of this month’s info, we have a few events happening that you should circle on the calendar. First off, for those of you who like fast cars, fast getaways, and loud parties, the “GUMBALL 3000” runs through our territory this Friday May 7th. The GUMBALL 3000 is an all out balls-to-the-wall rally starting in London England, touring Europe, Flying to Boston, driving to Quebec City, Stopping in Toronto (MAY 7TH) and finishing in New York shortly after. Stargazing and Eye-candy will be on the menu as these tarted up super-exotic machines try to avoid the constabulary.
Check out: http://www.gumball3000.com/ for more details.

Don’t forget that Sunday May 9th is Mothers day! Flowers say I love you, but MINI stuff says You’re-the best-Mum-EVER!

The first real long weekend of 2010 is May 15th-17th – Victoria Day
For those who will be partaking in lighting explosives in honour of an Old English Lady, make sure you have a great time and remember to count all your fingers before driving home.

Last, we have a new addition to the May Calendar. May 29th-30th will be the fifth annual Wings and Wheels Festival at Downsview Park in Toronto. Models of all make and vintage are able to be displayed. Parking is free, but admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, FREE for kids under 5, and FREE to uniformed servicemen and women. Let’s see if we can get an SOMC contingent to represent the goodness of the club before heading down to the May monthly meet. Check out their website for and further info: http://www.wingsandwheelsfestival.com/home.html

Lastly, congratulations to XIEK as he picks up yet another award at the DRAGON 2010. The “KING-OF-BLING” as he shall be called from here forward is on a role this year as he first picked up best of show at AMVIV with BANZAI’s beloved ZERO!

If you have any info that you would like to see in the monthly E-blast to the members of SOMC, send me a private massage with the details, and I will be sure to include it. Have an event or charity event, send me the info and we will get the word out. Once again, keep your eyes on the forums for info on the Eastenders and Westenders regular meets as these are regional events run under the SOMC banner.

That’s all I have for now!

May all your roads be twisty and your traffic light!
