\"but at a glance, the Countryman looks like a Mini Cooper S that was Xeroxed at 130%. Considering the car is 6 inches longer than the plus-size Mini Clubman, as well as 4.1 inches wider and a towering 5.1 inches taller, that\'s some clever styling. The Countryman could easily have turned out to look awful, the Clubman\'s bloated corpse.\"

I love Dan\'s writing B)

Does this guy not know that all the MINI\'s he\'s talking about were all created before, and BMW / Mini is bringing them back? He talks like how BMW is creating a new vehicle and ruining the mini name and how it is supposed to be mini.

It\'s like he\'s writing it as if the 2011 countryman, is the first...countryman ever! (look up Austin Se7ven) if confused. Yes they added more doors and made it a cross over, but its a new generation of cars.

Heck, the Austin Countryman (inexpensive estate car) existed almost 10 years before the Austin Mini Cooper did.

Original Austin Countryman:

Austin Mini Countryman:

All things in relative proportion, the new countryman is far closer the original Cooper vs the Mini Countryman than to the Austin Countryman so this NYT writer can bite my arse.
