View Full Version : Intake Cleaning Time

Now that ... MOST ... of the winter cr*p has pretty much ended, it\'s time to think about cleaning/replacing the ole intake filter. The only reason I say this is that my GMC went in for an alternator replacement the weekend and whilst it was in I asked for an oil change to be done and a Spring check up. The intake filter was CHOKED. I had a look @ the Mini and the same problem ... cleaned it and I\'m noticing the increase in power, which has slowly dropped off without me noticing it.

Worth a look for those that use their Minis throughout the winter.

Funny you should post this today....

Last night I pulled my airbox apart and couldn\'t believe the amount of road debris, sand and crap in there....plus a really dirty filter.

I\'ve got a K&N drop-in filter, has anybody found a good place to buy a cleaning/oiling kit for cheap?

Dude, K&N Filter Charger is available at any Crappy Tire for cheap. It\'s really not such a specialized item anymore. You can use the K&N Kit for any Cotton Gauze Element-based filter assembly. Just don\'t try it on paper or foam based filters.
